Advanced Stroke Life Support
Early Stroke Identification saves lives! This blended course offered by the American Hospital Association teaches providers the early and often subtle signs of ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, and stroke mimickers as well as assessment techniques, brain anatomy, and current treatment modalities. Both a Prehospital and In-Hospital provider courses are offered. Healthcare Provider BCLS is a prerequisite for course attendance; contact us today to set up a course for your organization.
Please note: ASLS is a BLENDED COURSE meaning each student MUST successfully complete an approximately 4-hour online AHA program PRIOR TO the in-person skills evaluation session. Failure to complete the online portion prior to the in-person session will result in the student not eligible to participate.
Rapid Response Training’s Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who need to enhance their recognizing and managing acute stroke skills. This course equips participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify stroke symptoms and provide timely, effective treatment quickly.
The ASLS course emphasizes the importance of rapid assessment and intervention, covering topics such as:
- Identifying the signs and symptoms of stroke, including the use of several different stoke scales including FAST-ED, BE-FAST and NIH
- Understanding the pathophysiology of stroke and how it impacts patient care
- Implementing evidence-based stroke care protocols
- Managing acute ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke in emergency settings
- Coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
Participants will engage in hands-on practice through interactive simulations and case-based learning, helping them to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to recognize better and respond to stroke emergencies, improving their patients’ chances of positive outcomes.
This course is ideal for healthcare providers in emergency medicine, neurology, and other disciplines involved in stroke care. This is a blended course and the first 4 hours are online.
