Pediatric Advanced Life Support
The PALS course at Rapid Response Training is designed for healthcare providers who manage emergencies involving infants and children, including those working in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care settings. This course focuses on enhancing the ability of healthcare professionals to recognize and respond to pediatric respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest using advanced team dynamics and high-level individual skills.
Through scenario-based practice sessions and simulations, participants will reinforce critical concepts and develop the skills needed to improve patient outcomes. To successfully complete the course, participants must demonstrate proficiency in all patient scenarios and achieve a passing score on the final exam.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Perform high-quality CPR following the latest American Heart Association (AHA) BLS guidelines
- Identify patients in need of immediate intervention and act promptly
- Recognize and respond to cardiopulmonary arrest within 10 seconds
- Utilize effective team communication and dynamics
- Distinguish between respiratory distress and failure, and apply early interventions
- Differentiate and manage compensated and decompensated shock
- Identify and treat unstable and stable arrhythmias
- Understand and manage post-cardiac arrest care
This course is ideal for any healthcare provider responsible for the emergency care of pediatric patients. Healthcare Provider BCLS is a prerequisite for course attendance.
